The Columbia Pro Cantare chorus opens its 48th season with a tribute to French composer Gabriel Faure. Works on the program include Faure's moving Requiem. EBENEZER UMC HOLLY MART Ebenezer United Methodist Church will hold its annual Holly Mart from 8:3am-2pm, Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 at Winfield Fire Hall, 1320 W. Old Liberty Road. This popular holiday bazaar features the church's handmade crafts, birdfeeders, five flavors of homemade cheeseballs (cheddar, onion, Italian, bacon cheddar, chocolate chip), baked goods, chocolates, meal and dessert mixes, plus a silent auction and valuable door prize. More than 30 vendors and direct-sale home-based businesses will offer holiday and home dcor items, wreaths, art works, wood creations, hand-sewn fabric and knitted items, personal and home accessories, jewelry, needlework, clothing, bath and body care, and much more. Lunch will feature homemade soups -- chicken noodle, vegetable beef, potato, Maryland crab, cream of crab, and Ultimate Crab (combo of Maryland crab/cream of crab); beef barbecue, chicken salad sandwiches and hot dogs; homemade pies (apple, cherry, coconut creme, pumpkin, lemon meringue and chocolate); apple dumplings; some gluten-free items; and hot and cold drinks. CHURCH TO HOLD FOOD PANTRY Ebenezer United Methodist Church will hold the "Rock of Help" Food Pantry for anyone in the community in need of food from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the third Saturday of each month at the food pantry building, behind the church, 4901 Woodbine Road, near Winfield. Non-perishable foods, assorted frozen foods, a non-food household item and children's shoes are available. The food pantry currently is drive-through only. Church staff will put pre-loaded bags of food in your car. The food pantry will be held Saturday Oct. 19, Nov.16 and Dec. 21, 2024. The church is one-half mile south of Liberty Road on Woodbine Road.
